Qualifications:

  • Visual Basic, .NET, Web development, PL/SQL, T/SQL, TCP/IP Stored procedures

Education/Experience:

Four year College degree from an accredited college (business and computer science degrees preferred); or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Active participation in a software development or systems support environment or
  • Business exposure in a distribution or retail related field
  • In Depth knowledge of critical Harris Teeter Applications in a plus including ACI, HQPM, VLM, and Soft Grocer Applications

 

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Technical Skills - Ability to perform all tasks required of the position with little or no supervision. Ability and willingness to be self taught for in depth application knowledge
  • Strong Troubleshooting, research skills required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Applications including WORD, EXCEL, ACCESS, Power Point, and VISIO
  • Communication Skills - Strong verbal and written communication skills.  Superior telephone etiquette and an ability to deal effectively with customers, vendors, peers and management
  • Mathematical Skills – ability to understand basic percents and simple calculations, trending and averages.
  • Analytic Skills – Strong analytic skills required to analyze issues and data. Must be capable of working with complex issues and business applications. Strong problem-solving skills, good technical and mechanical aptitude; ability to make independent decisions giving full consideration to business operations and/or customer impact.
  • Organization and Planning Skills – strong organization and planning required; planning enhancement updates for bug fix and problem resolution. Ability to hit Service levels and established timeframes. Good initiative and project management skills. The ability to organize work in an efficient manner and to work well under stress and time pressures.

Other Information: Additional information specific to the position

  • This position requires 24 x 7 coverage and includes use of a cell phone/pager.
  • Perform a broad range of support responsibilities.  Analyze, interpret, summarize, and report research findings.
  • Communicate orally with business users, co-workers, and vendors in face-to-face one-on-one settings, group settings, or using telephone.
  • Must be able to work without direct supervision.  Can work independently on projects without management assistance.
  • Should provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be top level contributor/specialist.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Prolonged sitting and typing.  PC/CRT use over 80%.
  • Office environment with standard work schedule of 45 hours. Overtime as required and on-call as scheduled.
