Summary: Reporting to the Director of Advertising & Creative, the Social Media Manager is responsible for developing & managing the Social Media Strategy for Harris Teeter.  This role is responsible for understanding brand strategy, growing trends, and customer analytics that will drive the overall performance of each social media channel. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include the follow but are not limited to:  

Paid & Organic Content:
•    Develop a strong social media strategy to drive engagement, loyalty and best in class performance metrics.
•    Lead outside media partners, AOR, and internal Social Media Specialist in development, execution & analysis of all social media campaigns, including but not limited to: Meta, Pinterest, Tik Tock, YouTube and X.
•    Over-see the development, measurement & enhancement of all social media campaigns.
•    Conducts research and sources the appropriate tools for social management, listening, and analytics.
•    Leads the strategic development of social media briefs for needed creative solutions for social media content ideas and needs.
•    Partners with the Internal Creative Team and Sr. Producer to generate ideas and create social media creative assets for campaigns. 
•    Sets social media goals, KPIs by period, quarter and YOY growth. 
•    Leads the workflow process enhancements including Workfront project management system optimization. 
•    Reviews and approves all social media creative, ensuring the strategy meets the brands objectives, channel strategies, voice & tone, and brand guidelines are followed. 
•    Partner with various departments for at event social engagements (Sports Marketing, Corporate Affairs, Grand Openings, Store Events and Local Marketing Events etc.).
•    Capture photos and videos of promotional store activity and philanthropic events to share on social media and within the company.
•    Collaborate with internal departments on social media requests and provide recommendations on social media support that fit the business objectives and role of channel KPIs.
•    Setting goals, monitoring & reporting key performance indicators of all social media support, paid and organic. 
•    Creates and presents competitive analysis. 
•    Manages the social media budgeting invoicing and reconciliation. 

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities are as follows, but not limited to: 
•    Being available outside office hours to assist or address any issues that may arise, particularly in relation to crisis communications or social media errors.
•    Monitor and initiate communications with the appropriate contacts on any issues on all social media channels that can negatively impact the Harris Teeter brand or result in poor customer service as perceived by Harris Teeter shoppers.
•    Assist in educating and training new team members and interns in paid social strategy, creation, recipe content & database, implementation, and reporting.
•    Occasional evening, weekend, and holiday hours, as well as minimal travel, may be required.
•    Over-see the Harris Teeter recipe strategy & process management in compliance with Kroger's guidelines.
•    Generate recipe links for social media usage
•    Record recipe content in Excel for Harris Teeter recipe database
•    Provide assistance with requests for the Harris Teeter Careers page and LinkedIn social media as needed.

Education/Experience:
Minimum Bachelors’ degree (B. A.) or two-year college/ technical school plus equivalent retail social media management experience.
 
5+ years’ experience as a Social Media Manager is required.

Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. 

Reasoning Ability: 
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills: 
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficiency in social media tools like Hootsuite, buffer or Sprout.  Basic skills in adobe suite, photoshop, or Canva. Basic Knowledge or experience in Analytics Software like google analytics, Facebook insights to measure performance. Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Development software; Design software; Project Management software and Database software.
