Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Criminal Justice or Business Administration; or eight years equivalent Retail Asset Protection experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Flexibility:
The associate must be willing to travel with consecutive overnight stays up to 50% of the time. The associate must be willing to relocate anywhere in the Harris Teeter operating area if necessary, both at the time of job acceptance and in the future based on Harris Teeter’s needs. The associate must be willing and able to frequently work for long periods of time which could exceed an eight hour shift. The associate must be available and willing to work weekends and holidays as necessary.
Certificates and Licenses:
Certified by Wicklander Zulawski or Reid (interview and interrogation programs) and possess a solid track record of interview skill sets.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to complete written reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as inventory figures. Able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory software and Asset Protection Management System database software. Possess extensive knowledge in practical application of physical security systems to include CCTV, Alarm and
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises Asset Protection Specialists and Coordinators. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
