Qualifications:

Extensive knowledge of the beer and wine categories to include, but not limited to the following: product attributes, growing/production areas, tasting methods/criteria, varietal differences, craft & import beer trends and buying practices.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three years related experience and/or training.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs using basic analytical business acumen.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word or similar word processing software; Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet software; Soft Grocer inventory software or similar inventory software.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises 1 to 2 employees in the Beer and Wind Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
