Summary: Assist in the repair and maintenance of trucks, trailers and garage equipment by performing the following duties.
Duties:
Read job order and observe and listen to truck in operation to determine malfunction and to plan work procedures.
Assist in the repairs of garage equipment.
Perform other necessary repairs on tractors or trailers which include but are not limited to: tires, wheels, mud flaps, doors, windows, antennas, mirrors, instrument gauges, , batteries, fuel pumps, brakes, lights, etc.
Obtain needed parts by going to pick up supplies from automotive supply stores.
Assist with roadside calls to assist an inoperable tractor or trailer.
Utilize appropriate computer software to input log of needed work repairs and completion of such.
Follow through with the requests and recommendations of the Maintenance Supervisor or Manager.
Follow company's attendance policy by coming to work on time and when scheduled.
Follow company's safety policies and procedures.
Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
High School diploma or GED and one year certificate from college or technical school; or 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Current Drivers License

Must be 18 years of age
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and general public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have experience with Maintenance Management Systems.

Must comply with dress code requirements.
Must be able to pass the Mechanic 3 examination
Must possess a basic tool set.
