Summary: 
This position to support cost benefit analysis for projects and other spend in the company, in addition this position will support SOX compliance documentation maintenance and control and serves as a liaison between internal and external audit and Harris Teeter stakeholders. The position will support accounting activities for period end, and accurate record keeping of financials for joint ventures, insurance administration and more. 
The position will communicate and prepare periodic Power Point presentations with results, analytics and finding for company’s financials to department and Harris Teeter’s divisional leadership. 

  
Essential Duties include the following:
•    Develops and performs cost benefit analysis modeling for projects and company’s investments.
•    Work with business to collect information and direct teams on guidelines to analyze projects profitability
•    Works on reanalysis for implemented projects and presents finding to department leadership.
•    Manages records and financials for joint ventures capital including period end journal entries and accounts reconciliation. 
•    Reviews contracts and analyses ins and outs of joint venture agreements, financials focused, and provides recommendations to departments’ leadership
•    Performs period analysis and analyses changes in financials for company’s worker compensation, general liabilities and auto insurances.
•    Responsible for period end calculation and posting journal entries for assigned accounts.
•    Performs periodic reconciliation for assigned accounts
•    Manage the process to ensure compliance with the annual Sarbanes Oxley documentation, testing and assessment.
•    Maintains accurate records for SOX documentation, with periodic review and adjustment were needed.
•    Work with stuff and a third party, where applicable, on development and completion of internal control compliance documentation.
•    Serves as a liaison between eternal and internal audit and Harris Teeter
•    Participates in opening and closing meeting with internal and external auditors and assists with management with the development of responses to audit recommendations and monitors follow up for outstanding recommendations and follow up on action plan
•    Performs project management of various tasks related to overall corporate compliance as well as corporate accounting consulting projects
•    Other duties as may be assigned or required.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Finance, Accounting or Business.  Three to five years’ experience in financial analytics and accounting, preferably in retail environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, legal documents, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. 

Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability: 
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills: 
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have and advanced knowledge of Excel, and PowerPoint; and knowledge of Word; Access database software; knowledge of Oracle GL.
