JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Successful completion of training in data processing concepts, operating system concepts, operating system operations, hardware, and installation procedures.
Two year Associates degree or appropriate related job experience.
Basic typing/word processing skills (40 w.p.m.).
Knowledge Requirements:
• Technical Skills - Ability to perform all tasks required of the position with little or no supervision. Ability to perform all tasks required of the position with little or no supervision. Train computer operations staff regarding functions and features of the scheduling system. Recognize deficiencies in schedules, documentation, JCL, and Proc. naming per department standards. Ensure operations management is aware of standard violations
• Communication Skills - Report any department problems or hardware problems to the supervisor. Notify supervisor and programming personnel whenever an interruption occurs due to an application program. Effectively communicate with management and associates.

• Mathematical Skills –
• Analytic Skills – Record utilization data; document operations problems, and corrective action taken for management review. Document or key Shift Turnover Log and communicate significant shift events to operations personnel.
• Organization and Planning Skills - Ensure operations staff is recording problems in to the problem management system, and that information guidelines are being met.
Experience:
• One year of computer operation / datacenter experience in a 24/7 environment
Other Information: Prolonged sitting and typing. PC/CRT use over 50%.
• Office environment with standard work schedule of 40 hours. Overtime as required and on-call as scheduled.
